Description:

Georgeous and highly collectible Gruen Curvex with a genuine 311 caliber movement. This is a mid 1930's Curvex which has a 14k gold filled case that is curved to fit the wrist. Unfortunately many sellers list watches as curvex models because of their high values but over time several curvex dials have been affixed to non-curvex movements and then fitted into curved cases, creating a faux curvex that is not nearly as collectible as a genuine curvex - THIS IS NOT THE CASE HERE! Gruen only produced four curvex movements, the 311, 330, 440, and the 470. The 311 movements are the earliest of these four - first produced in 1935. The movement is actually slightly curved which makes these models among the most collectible in the Gruen line. This 17j Precision movement runs perfectly and is cased in a high polish 14k gold filled Curvex case with a few minimal flaws - there is a hairline scratch above the face of the watch which is visible in the photo above but is not visible on the wrist. The face is in very good condition as are the hands and raised gold numerals. There is very little lug wear and virtually no wear on the case back. The watch is 4x signed - on the dial, case, movement, and crown. This would make a great addition to a collection!

Measurements: Lug to lug - 41mm
Case, not including crown - 20mm

 Description:

1945 Men's curved Omega - all original dial, case, and movement. The 14k filled Wadsworth case is excellent with no dings or major scratches. For those of you who are not familiar with Wadsworth, during the 1940's in order to offset production and importation costs many fine watch makers such as Omega would build their movements in Switzerland at their factory and then the movement would be sent to the US, where a locally produced case would be mated to the movement. This was a common practice and this case is original to the watch, as purchased in the 40's. The crystal is domed and curved and in excellent condition. The 17j 300 cal. movement ran flawlessly for 24 hours while the watch was on the wrist, so obviously it does not need to be serviced at this time. The dial has some spotting as can be seen in the pictures. The watch looks great on the wrist however, so it depends on your personal tastes. Are you a purist, that believes that the dial should be original, patina spotting and all, or are you into perfection, and would prefer the dial be restored?

Measurements - 34mm lug to lug, 23mm across NIC.

 Description:

Near mint high grade watch from 1887. Original double sunk enamel dial has NO hairlines and is clean, bright and features bold all original markers. Case is super clean with no dents or dings and only very minor and faint scratches consistent with the age of the watch - its super shiny and is the original silveroid case that was with the watch when it was purchased back in 1887. The are some minor black micro tarnish spots that I could not polish out that are visible in the pictures above. The crown is in great shape as is the loop. The setting lever functions perfectly and even snaps back into place once the watch has been set. The high grade, railroad approved BW Raymond (named for the mayor of Chicago) fully demaskeened 17j movement works absolutely flawlessly. It swings out from the case easily after the crown is pulled. After being wound this watch ran for well over 24 hours and did not loose so much as a few seconds of accuracy. This was a railroad approved watch of the day and it remains railroad accurate. The movement is fully adjusted for 6 positions. The all original glass crystal is 99 percent, with NO scratches and just four tiny micro chips that are not visible unless the crystal is subjected to heavy scrutiny under the right lighting conditions. All and all this is a fantastic, highly collectible, collectors grade Elgin that is 125 years old and is ALL ORIGINAL. It is a heavy, substantial 18 size, measuring 54mm across.
